It Started on a Saturday in Newport Beach.
Growing up in Newport Beach means the ocean is part of your life. Beach days, swim lessons at the Wedge, surf camp in Corona del Mar. But when it came time to shop for a swimsuit, my daughter had outgrown everything in the girls' section. The patterns were too young, the cuts too small. So we walked over to juniors. Padded tops. Cheeky bottoms. String bikinis designed for someone twice her age.
She stood in the fitting room with a suit that technically fit her body but had nothing to do with who she actually was. I watched her face fall. Not because of her body — because the options told her she didn't exist.
That afternoon we drove down PCH with the windows down, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. That was the day CoCoLo started. Not as a business plan. As a question: why doesn't anyone make swimwear for the in-between?
We named it CoCoLo — inspired by the coastal colors of our hometown. The deep ocean blues of Crystal Cove, the sea glass greens of Little Corona, the sunset corals that light up the Newport pier every evening.

The Sizing Gap Nobody Talks About
There are roughly 10 million girls ages 8-12 in the United States. They're in that stretch where kids' sizing is getting tight but women's sizes are cut for adult body proportions. No brand owns this space. Mass brands treat it as an afterthought. Premium brands price above $50. Nobody is combining real fit, real style, and real value — until now.
